Dr Kelvin Clayton is The Green Party candidate forWest Dorset in the general election on December 12th. He discusses the party's manifesto titled 'If Not Now, When?'

The party is proposing a Green New Deal costing £100bn over the next ten years to cut carbon emissions and create a net-zero carbon economy by 2030.

Dr Clayton says the party is putting forward radical plans to transform housing, farming and transport which include improving energy efficiency in a million homes a year, building energy efficient council homes, improving public transport and ending the sale of all petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030.

He says the question is not whether we can afford the measures to tackle climate change, but whether we can afford not to.
